A NOTE FROM THE PTA PRESIDENT: J.J. JORGENSEN
First, a big THANK YOU to all the Rockdale families who have volunteered and/or donated in support of our school, teachers and PTA! You are the key to our success!
We kicked off the year with wonderful momentum, planning many fun fall events and fundraising to ensure Rockdale’s enrichment programs were able to continue. However, this letter brings some unfortunate news. Our PTA’s status is currently marked as “delinquent” with the Department of Justice due to a lack of communication on their part which resulted in some delayed paperwork on ours. This means that our unit must pause all fundraising and PTA sponsored community events until the issue is remedied and we are back to an “active” status. All required documents and fees were submitted as soon as we learned of this oversight, so we hope the issue is resolved quickly. But, to be honest, its going to be a bit of a waiting game.
The good news? We have an AMAZING partnership with the school staff and with many dedicated parent leaders. All are working together as we continue to serve our community, to stay connected, and to support our students in the best possible way.

FALL FESTIVAL - UPDATE AND CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Honestly, you’re all amazing. So each month, we’d like to introduce and acknowledge an association member who has really gone above and beyond.
Please meet: STEPHANIE CLEARY
Stephanie is mom to two Rockets: Oslo (2nd) and Frankie (TK). Her family feels fortunate to live right behind the school, which inspires her to actively support the community in any way she can.
Last year, she took charge of Teacher Appreciation Week, and currently she is managing the important task of organizing the Room Rocketeers, all while providing significant support for the Fall Festival. She feels that these opportunities allow her to connect with other parents in a meaningful way, fostering relationships that go beyond the usual quick “hellos”… and we totally agree! Thank you for all of the effort, Stephanie. We are so glad you’re here!
CLASS DOJO PTA CLASSROOM
Joining this classroom means that PTA calls for volunteers, important updates, and event flyers will appear in your Class Dojo feed, right alongside announcements from the school and your student’s teacher. This will not replace regular PTA emails, but we hope it will allow for easy communication and participation between Rockdale families and the PTA as Dojo is already a part of your lives.
