Family Literacy Night

Thursday, March 13 is Family Literacy Night: 4-5:30pm

Students and families welcome!

Come for the books, stay for poetry, zine workshop, character meet and greet and more!

It’s the third annual event and we welcome all Rockdale students and families to celebrate the written and spoken word together. Attendance and activities are free to all! Food available for purchase at [food truck here].

We need your help! Please volunteer!

Stations include:

Poetry Slam: 5th and 6th graders can sign up in their classrooms in advance (4:10pm MPR)

Print Shop: One Rocket artist will have their design selected to print on a t-shirt or tote - bring one from home or pick one up at the event while supplies last!

Character Meet and Greet: Hear the story read by a special guest reader, then meet the Click Clack Duck for photo ops! (5pm MPR)

Zine Workshop: sign up in advance! (details here)

Let’s Be Bees Yoga: UTK-2nd grade may be especially excited to move and read with us!

Book Cafe: the popular library literary cafe is back! Sign up with the host in front of the library! (ongoing, every 15 minutes in the library)

Coffee and Cocoa Station: warm up with a cup of joe or cocoa - nothing pairs better with a book!

Los Angeles Public Library: Your friendly local library rep will be on hand to let you know what’s happening at your local library!

So, so much more! We have teacher led activities, free books, and self-guided story fun besides!
